The historic Cross "L" Ranch is located only 25 miles
south of the Midland-Odessa Airport in Northern Upton
County. Over 27,000 acres of prime hunting property is
available and a unique challenge for the avid hunter. A
recent aerial survey by Natural Resources Conservation
Service (NRCS) indicated the ratio of deer consisting of
73% white-tail deer and 27% mule deer. In addition, the
quail population (in a drought year) approximated to
over 200 coveys by the survey. There are javelina,
turkey, and varmints, providing a variety of challenges
for all hunters.
There are fifteen water wells currently operating,
providing a continuous supply of water for the wildlife.
On-demand protein feeders are located strategically on
the ranch, providing supplemental food for the deer
population, as well as the quail and turkey. Although
currently no livestock are grazing the ranch, the ranch
is set up for a significant cattle operation, in
conjunction with a commercial hunting facility.
